Alucard

“Stop chasing shadows my young apprentice,” an eerie voice said.
Devon ran away from the eerie voice, panting, as if he was extremely fatigued.
“It’s useless to run away from your destiny,” the eerie voice said.
“AHHHHH!” Devon screamed. He turned around, only to see he was sweating. “Not this again,” Devon told himself. He got up from his bed and went downstairs. He opened up the refrigerator only to see that there was no milk. Note to self, remind mom to buy milk, Devon thought to himself. He walked around the kitchen to find the regular instructions his mom left.
“Devon, there’s leftover ramen in the counter and leftover KFC in the fridge, just heat them up in the microwave. With love, mom and dad,” Devon read aloud, “Well, leftovers aren’t really breakfast, but I’ll eat the KFC.” He put the fried chicken in the microwave and put forty-five seconds on the microwave. He ran upstairs to find the clothes he would wear to school that day. He chose his Smosh t-shirt, his dark blue Old Navy jeans, a pair of black socks, an orange Aeropostale hoodie, and his black Tone-Ups.
The microwave made a large beep that cued his ninja “skills”. He ran downstairs only to fall face first on his first floor rug. He stood up and shook off the pain and grabbed his food.
“HOT! HOT! HOT!” Devon exclaimed as he grabbed the food from the microwave. He ran to the bathroom to brush his teeth and let the food cool down. He went to the dining room, sat down, prayed to thank the lord for the food he had in front of him, and then gobbled up the food like if there were no tomorrow.
He released a loud burp and went upstairs to change into the clothes he had picked out. He saw the clock. It read in bright red numbers “7:45.” Devon opened his eyes wide in terror.
“DID I SERIOUSLY TAKE THAT LONG!” Devon exclaimed. He changed and ran downstairs. He assured that every window was closed and assured that he grabbed his keys and locked the door. He ran to the bus stop right before it closed the doors and ran to the middle where he found his friends Brendan and Flannery.
“Hey guys,” Devon said as he squeezed in between them.
            ‘Hey Devon,” Brendan replied.
“Hey Devon,” Flannery replied in a weird accent. Devon laughed, that accent always made him smile.
            “So, what’s up?” Devon asked.
“Nothing much, I only got tickets to a rock concert,” Brendan said, trying to make him jealous.
“It isn’t going to work,” Devon responded.
“Awwww,” Brendan said, then put the ticket back in his backpack.
“Well,” Flannery started, “I’m going to get a new phone for my birthday, which is in two days.” Devon knew what she wanted to hear.
“Hey Flannery, what do you want for your sixteenth birthday?” Devon asked.
“Well, I want a unicorn stuffed animal!” Flannery replied in a joyful voice. Devon checked his wallet. He found forty bucks.
“I guess I can buy it,” Devon started, “The book I want only costs thirty bucks, so I guess I will buy it.”
“YAY!”  Flannery exclaimed. Then, in what appeared to be a blink of an eye, but actually was ten minutes, they arrived at San Diego High. Devon got off the bus and looked through his backpack to assure himself he had everything. However, that wasn’t the case. Yes, he did find everything, but he found something extra. He found a vampire necklace that he had bought the past summer.
“That’s weird; I don’t remember putting this in my backpack,” Devon said. He shrugged and put the necklace on. He walked to class and sat down in the middle; not to close to the teacher to seem like a nerd, but not so far away to not be able to listen to a word being said. He then realized that he still had five minutes before classes started, so he took out his favorite book.
The bell rang and nine tenths of the class was already sitting down. He took out his notebook and started jotting down the notes
